Amaris Plants 1000 Trees For Earth Month

Amaris has completed Play it Green’s 1000 Tree Challenge, making a huge impact for Earth Month.

By raising the necessary funds to plant 1000 Trees, Amaris Group has rebalanced the carbon footprint of 88 people for a month.

Outside of absorbing CO2, the trees will also help prevent soil erosion, flooding, provide better soil and water for fishing and farming, and help restore natural rainfall patterns.

Not only that, but it directly benefits the local community in Madagascar, where they are planted. Employed to plant the trees, they can then begin to afford daily necessities such as food, water, shelter, clothing, and medicine.

A tenth of the funds raised will also go to Amaris’s charity of choice, Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, supporting sick children and their families when they need it most.

The trees are guaranteed to be planted and can be seen through the Amaris Groups Forest Garden.

Scott Pickavance, COO of Amaris, said:

“Outside of making sure all our group businesses are at least Carbon Neutral and have a climate positive workforce who are educated every week through positive sustainability behaviour change tips from Play It Green, we also wanted to accept the 1000 Tree Challenge for Earth Month.

Sustainability is in the DNA of our Mission, Vision and Values and we cannot wait to engage in further positive campaigns to deliver even more environmental and social impact through Play It Green “

While Earth Month is over, Play it Green members can run the 1000 Tree Challenge and download all the marketing support at any point through their Forest Garden.
