Club Soda: Introduction

We’re proud to announce a new partnership with Club Soda, the UK’s leading mindful drinking movement, to bring meaningful environmental and social action to their Low, No & Mid Strength Summit.

Founded by Laura Willoughby MBE, Club Soda has spent over a decade shifting how people approach drinking. From their Tasting Room in Covent Garden to national festivals and educational campaigns, their work supports hundreds of thousands of people to make better choices. Now, they’re adding environmental action to their landmark industry event.

Every Ticket Makes a Difference

For each ticket sold, Play It Green will plant a tree, mangrove, or sea kelp on behalf of the attendee. These are part of long-term, verified nature repair projects in Kenya, Senegal, and Canada, where we work with local communities to restore ecosystems and improve livelihoods.

This work is backed by GPS tagging, drone and photographic updates, independent audits, and is all part of a blockchain. That means no vague promises, just clear, visible results.

These projects restore biodiversity, support flood protection, improve water quality, and contribute to carbon removal. More importantly, they support people too, creating jobs and strengthening community resilience.

Supporting the Team

Alongside the planting, Play It Green is helping the Club Soda team build their sustainability knowledge with weekly education and access to practical tools. That includes tips for reducing emissions, resources on workplace sustainability, and signposting to trusted support for the net zero journey.

This reflects Club Soda’s own approach, making better choices easier, and creating a positive ripple effect that goes beyond the event itself.

A Shared Vision

This partnership started after a few honest conversations between Laura and our co-founder Richard. It turned out they had more in common than just business goals. Both had made big changes in their own lives, both believe in behaviour change over blame, and both care about making things better without making them harder.

Laura has helped shift the drinking conversation away from shame and into something more empowering. Richard set up Play It Green to help people and businesses take simple, meaningful steps that actually add up. Between them, this partnership just made sense.

By linking the conference to nature repair and practical support, we’re proving that events can do good without fuss, and that shared values can turn into shared impact.

Play It Green Be The Climate Solution

Club Soda x Play It Green: Building for the Future

This is just the starting point. The low and no drinks sector is growing fast, and more brands are looking to improve how they operate, across supply chains, product development, and customer experience. Sustainability is no longer a side note. It’s becoming part of every decision.

Play It Green and Club Soda will explore more ways to help businesses in this space reduce their impact and improve how they give back. Whether that’s through nature repair, footprint reporting, staff education, or customer-facing initiatives, the goal is to keep improving what good looks like in the industry.

Together, we want to help this growing sector lead by doing, without pressure, without greenwash, and without making it complicated.

Laura’s work has created real change in how we talk about alcohol. It’s exciting to support a movement that already has so much purpose. With a bit of help from nature repair and education, this partnership is doing more than talking, it’s delivering outcomes that everyone can feel good about.
