Dragonfly Cancer Trust Joins the Play It Green Community

New Giving Partner

The Dragonfly Cancer Trust charity is now an official good cause partner of Play It Green, meaning it will receive more funding for its work with families, hospitals, and hospices across the UK supporting palliative cancer patients from 0-25 years old.

Climate change causes social issues and this means sustainability is not solely about the environment.

Play It Green’s unique business model enables our members to not just reduce their footprint and repair the planet (through reforestation), but to regive to a good cause of their choice.

The northeast UK-based Cancer Trust works with specialist cancer treatment centres, hospitals, hospices and families across the UK and provides support for young cancer patients under the age of 25 with a palliative diagnosis.

Making Memories

Their focus is on memory making, helping young patients to make each moment matter with their loved ones.

You can read about some of the amazing memories created by the trust on their website (make sure to keep a tissue handy – inspirational doesn’t cover it).

They do this by providing Cash Gifts, keepsakes and creative therapy and their dedicated team of staff and volunteers are continuously inspired by the young people they support.

The good cause is the 20th to join Play It Green’s community meaning our members can provide support to a wide range of worthy charities trying to make the world a better place for their service users.

As well as providing extra much-needed funds, Play It Green will provide the trust with the tools it needs to reduce its business footprint and will support its teams in lowering the footprints of their

Our thoughts

When asked about the new partnership, Jane Dennison, CEO of the Dragonfly Cancer Trust said:

“We are all responsible for climate change and by partnering with Play it Green, we can enhance our opportunity to lower our carbon footprint.”

Richard Dickson the Co-Founder of Play It Green said:

“We have all met someone or have someone in our family who has suffered from cancer and the work the Dragonfly Cancer Trust does is so important to make patients’ end-of-life better.

I am proud that they are part of our community and our members now have the choice to nominate the trust as a giving partner”.

The trust is available as a giving partner as of the publication of this article for all existing and new Play It Green community members to choose from, to fulfil step three of our three-step climate solution; #repair, #reduce and #regive.
