A holiday park in Devon that is committed to supporting the local economy to the tune of over £30 million is the first of its kind to sign up to Climate Positive Bookings, organised by Play It Green.
Climate Positive Bookings is a unique initiative run by Play It Green and our Holiday Park Management Software partner, Elite Dynamics.
The initiative costs Holiday Parks nothing and comes with full Carbon Reduction and Marketing support.
Climate Positive Bookings
The multi-award-winning site, Lady’s Mile and its sister site, Oakcliff are working with Play It Green to help reduce the carbon footprint of the business, its staff and holidaymakers.
As part of Play It Green’s unique three-step approach, the Holiday Parks are also committed to making an ongoing positive environmental and social impact whilst on their journey to net zero, through planting trees and gifting funds to local charities.
Making It Easy To Create Change
“For us, it was an easy choice to work with Play it green. Every day, we make a difference to people’s lives through creating precious memories and locally through employment and tourism spend but we knew we needed to do more,” said Lady’s Mile general manager, Stephen Brown.
He continued: “Our staff are on the Climate Positive Workforce programme receiving weekly education, tips and discounts to help drive behaviour change, enhance our culture and show we care about our staff and the planet. Over the years we have taken action to reduce our footprint with solar panel installations, make fuel from waste and much more, this is the next step and Play It Green’s services help map out the long-term plan.
“We’re delighted to now introduce Climate Positive Bookings as part of our offer, allowing customers to rebalance the carbon footprint of their journey to and from the Holiday Park at an affordable price. Footprint reduction tips will also be integrated into our mailers to holidaymakers so we create a community of people delivering action.
“Through this scheme, our customers have the option to add this whilst booking and every £1 will plant two new trees and regift 10p to our selected charity. The trees are planted in Madagascar which has been ravaged by deforestation, are protected long term and cared for by local people who gain employment. It’s a great solution that supports this fragile ecosystem and economy whist ensuring that there are more trees feeding the lungs of our planet.
