Jigsaw4u: Introduction
We are proud to announce that Jigsaw4u is now part of the Play It Green charity partner network. They were chosen by Play It Green member Wellnergy Festival and are now available for all Play It Green members to select as their nominated charity.
Jigsaw4u is a long-established community charity providing specialist mental health, wellbeing, practical and emotional support to children, young people and families across South West London. Jigsaw4u currently offers 24 services to their communities, which respond to a variety of complex social and emotional difficulties such as bereavement, depression, anxiety, child exploitation, domestic abuse, living in the care system, being a young victim of crime and more.
Their staff team is made up of Specialist Support Practitioners, Therapists and Project Managers who ensure they can deliver the best possible services for their beneficiaries.
As a medium-sized charity, over 90% of its income goes directly towards supporting its service delivery. With this in mind, this partnership gives Play It Green members the opportunity to direct their regive impact to vital services that support children and families at some of the most challenging points in their lives.
We caught up with Macklin Doherty, Partnerships Manager at Jigsaw4u, to learn more about their work and what this new partnership means.

Please, tell me more about Jigsaw4u
Jigsaw4u is a charity that helps children, young people and families to put the pieces back together following the onset of complex social and emotional difficulties. Since Jigsaw4u was established in 1997, our team has helped tens of thousands of individuals by providing specialist support, responding to the ever-evolving needs of our communities.
What Jigsaw4u offers young people and families is invaluable. The work our service-users are able to put into themselves with the support of Jigsaw4u’s team gives them the best chance at a bright and happy future. This is by providing them with a safe space, knowledge and the tools to overcome their personal challenges.
Since I started working for the charity in 2021, the demand for Jigsaw4u’s support has grown significantly due to the concurrent cost-of-living and mental health crises. We require more support than ever from partners and supporters to maintain and elevate our ability to deliver our high-level and much-needed support services. With over 90% of our income being spent directly on our services, any contributions to Jigsaw4u can have the power to make a huge and meaningful difference in the lives of our children and families.
Why is sustainability important to you?
Sustainability is important to me personally because it is about safeguarding the future.
With this in mind, I think it can sometimes be easy to forget that sustainability is not strictly environmental or economic; it’s deeply human.
Children and young people struggling with their mental health currently need support. Without support at this stage, they are at risk of experiencing poor life outcomes, reducing their ability to be the most productive members of society that they can be.
The wellbeing of children and young people is the bedrock of a sustainable and healthier future. I sincerely believe that any investment into their wellbeing paves the way to enhancing our collective approach to sustainability, by strengthening communities, our collective resilience, which all contribute towards building a more stable society.

It’s very exciting for Jigsaw4u to partner with Play It Green and we look forward to working together as a member of their Charity Partner Network. We are most excited to meet new people from socially minded businesses who choose to support us, much like Play It Green and our partners at Wellnergy Festival, who know the importance of; supporting the development of children, young people, assisting vulnerable adults and families in need, placing an importance on creating and maintaining conducive environments for positive mental health and wellbeing support, as well as being green and taking active steps towards creating a better future for everyone.
What does the future hold for Jigsaw4u
Our ultimate aim is for every individual in SW London who needs access to one of our services to have the ability to do so within one month. As we endeavour to move in this direction, Jigsaw4u will continue operating as a much-needed community resource providing high-level, professional therapeutic interventions to meet the complex social and emotional needs of our communities. In order to reach our ultimate aim, fundraising support from business partners, our community and individual supporters is always needed and is much appreciated.
