By joining our Climate Positive Workforce initiative, Ludovica Quaranta is demonstrating its dedication to sustainability. She will receive weekly sustainability education, supporting greener practices at work and home. This includes guidance on reducing emissions and progressing toward their net-zero goals.
Every month, Play It Green will plant a mix of trees, mangroves, and sea kelp for her studio contributing to global ecological restoration and carbon reduction.
Ludovica has also chosen to support One Woman at a Time, a charity that empowers women and girls through education and training. By donating 10% of her subscription fees, she’s driving vital social change alongside her environmental efforts.
We recently caught up with Ludovica to learn more about her design journey, her commitment to sustainability, and her vision for the future. Her energy and creativity make her a fantastic addition to the Play It Green community.
Please, tell us a little about Ludovica Quaranta, impact driven graphic & web design.
I founded my design studio with a mission to empower purpose-driven organizations by crafting compelling visual identities that authentically reflect their values and inspire meaningful connections with their audiences. After working in-house for a Milan-based startup, I moved to London seeking personal growth. This led me to embrace mindfulness, environmentalism, and community involvement. Disillusioned by agency work that didn’t align with my values, I launched my own studio, focusing on clients who positively impact society and the environment. Over seven years, my studio has grown organically, bringing me fulfillment and the opportunity to work with inspiring people. Beyond design, I actively contribute to environmental causes by facilitating workshops like Climate Fresk and Plastic Collage and organising litter-pick walks.
Why is sustainability important to Ludovica Quaranta, impact driven graphic & web design?
Even if the graphic design sector is shifting gradually from print to digital there’s still a negative impact on the environment: Computer and software usage require energy, and hosting websites and storing data also require in addition water to cool down the data centres. So it’s important to choose a hosting provider run by renewable energies, limit the size of images used on websites or sent by email, and regularly clean emails and cloud services. What scares me the most will be the uncontrolled usage of AI into image and video generation by other creatives in the industry… The environmental impact will need to be addressed soon!
Why did Ludovica Quaranta Graphic Design decide to collaborate with Play It Green?
I wanted to contribute physically to restoring our natural landscape to offset the energy used by my business. I explored various options but haven’t found anything as unique and engaging as a Play it Green tree planting (and more!) subscription. I enjoy following their newsletters, which are full of eco-news and tips, while my own forest grows. I highly recommend this plan to all my clients and friends. Every little step makes a difference!
What does the future hold for Ludovica Quaranta Graphic Design?
I’m excited to kick off the new year by supporting the incredible projects of my current and future clients. My vision is to become the go-to graphic and web design partner for ethical and eco-conscious brands, charities, and social enterprises, driving positive change through impactful visual design that fosters sustainability and social impact. I’ll continue organizing litter-picking events and facilitating Climate Fresk and Plastic Collage workshops to raise awareness about environmental preservation.
