Nautilus Gin Experiences Goes Green
In fantastic new member news, the outstanding Nautilus Gin Experiences has joined the Play It Green community.
The company is now educating and engaging its team on sustainability, driving down its footprint, planting lots of trees and regifting to The Lord’s Taverners charity.
Nautilus Gin Experiences offers unique gin-tasting experiences with a range of special gins, many of which are sustainable brands!
We caught up with Captain Simon, the company’s founder to find out more about their experiences and why he decided to team up with Play It Green.
Please, tell us a little about the Nautilus Gin Experiences
We host gin tastings and events, as well as give talks about the history of gin.
I started in 2019 with the intention of bringing a Victorian submarine gin bar to festivals.
When the first lockdown happened I channelled my expertise into setting up a gin subscription service and focusing on virtual tastings.
After the lockdown, we got busy hosting live tastings and got addicted to seeing people have such a good time at our events.
Consequently, that’s the main part of the business now.
Why is sustainability important to you?
I’ve always been environmentally conscious and I see running a business as an opportunity to set an example and be part of a community wanting to make a real difference.
I find it genuinely exciting to be part of a movement of businesses for whom this really matters.

Why did you decide to collaborate with Play It Green?
I was impressed at Play it Green’s holistic approach to the challenges facing the environment.
They’re not just about planting trees, as important as that is.
What does the future hold for Nautilus Gin Experiences?
I’m really excited for the summer when we’ll be curating and hosting the London Craft Gin Cruise.
It’s a 3-hour relaxing river journey with the best gins in the world for company.
Aside from that, we’re just excited to meet lovely people at our tastings.
