The TNFD recommendations aim to promote transparency by encouraging companies to report their nature-related financial impacts. The guidance, titled “Business Actions on TNFD,” is designed to help businesses across various sectors, highlighting the importance of managing risks related to biodiversity and ecological footprint.

Tom Mason, Associate Director at Nature Positive, commented, “SMEs are well-positioned to adapt to nature-related risks. By aligning with the TNFD framework, they can respond effectively to longer-term challenges arising from environmental and regulatory changes.”
This initiative offers SMEs the opportunity to get ahead of evolving regulations and to play a significant role in protecting nature and addressing the global nature finance gap, which the UN estimates at $4.1 trillion between 2021 and 2050.
