Fast forward to 1964, when Sir Terence Conran, founder of Habitat, introduced duvets to Britain, marketing them as the “continental quilt.” Their appeal skyrocketed in the 1970s when they were promoted as the “10-second bed,” emphasising their convenience.

Conventional duvets come at a hidden cost to the planet. Polyester, commonly used in duvet fillings, is a synthetic material derived from petroleum. The production of just one polyester duvet can generate up to 5 kg of CO₂ emissions, contributing to climate change.
