We’re excited to welcome The Resource Group, founded by Rachael Walsh, as the newest member of the Play It Green community. The Resource Group provides a 3-in-1 SaaS hiring solution that helps businesses find the right talent by connecting Talent, Technology and Employer Brand. Their SaaS platform also supports professionals in advancing their careers. Based in Manchester, they’re dedicated to delivering innovative recruitment solutions that drive success.

By joining our Climate Positive Workforce initiative, their team will receive weekly sustainability education aimed at reducing environmental impact and encouraging sustainable practices in both work and daily life. In addition, Play It Green will plant a mix of trees, mangroves, and sea kelp each month for every team member, reinforcing our shared goal of ecological restoration and carbon reduction.

The Resource Group is also exploring other ways to boost impact, including planting trees for each successful placement, combining career growth with environmental benefits.

They have chosen to support The Joshua Tree Charity, donating 10% of their subscription fees to help tackle homelessness in the region.

Finally, through our members’ platform, the Resource Group has access to templates, policies and plans as well as our sustainability signposting service!

We recently spoke with Rachael Walsh to learn more about The Resource Group’s values and future plans. We are excited to see the positive changes this partnership will bring.

Welcome, The Resource Group! Together, we are driving real progress toward a more sustainable future.

Please, tell us a little about The Resource Group

The Resource Group was established in 2019 to be a disruptor in the traditional recruitment sector. We are passionate about “recruitment for good”. The sector can be known for its underhand, bullish practices, and I was keen to re-write that script by producing a SaaS recruitment platform and business model that assists businesses and professionals to make the right career match at an affordable price, to help both our clients and candidates grow. Our values are Transparency, Integrity, Commitment to Excellence, Collaboration and Digital Innovation, so as part of our ESG strategy we wanted to partner with Play It Green as we feel their offering aligns perfectly with our values.

Why is sustainability important to The Resource Group?

Sustainability is important for The Resource Group because one of our core values is that we have a commitment to excellence; the work we do, the results we deliver but one step further than that how our results can have a positive effect on our people and the planet. We have noticed a massive shift on how candidates view sustainability, especially when it comes to Milennials, Gen Z and the upcoming Gen Alpha. A recent study by LinkedIn showed that companies that have a strong sustainability focus have a 50% higher chance of attracting top talent, and this is a statistic that we preach to our clients when assisting them on their recruitment strategies. At The Resource Group we want to Talk the Talk but also Walk the Walk when it comes to sustainability and this is a huge focus point for us for 2024 and beyond.

Why did The Resource Group decide to collaborate with Play It Green?

A very chance meeting off the back of an unattended networking event led to a coffee with Richard over at his offices in Bonded Warehouse. Straight away it was clear to me that our values were aligned on how we wanted to build both our businesses for “good”, not just with profit in mind. It was important to me when choosing a partner to help us focus on our ESG strategy, that it was a business focused on action and not just greenwashing. Transparency is one of our core values, our business is built around “transparency”, and Play It Green aligns with that value perfectly.

What does the future hold for The Resource Group?

It’s a very exciting time for The Resource Group. The foundations have been laid over the last few years and now we’re at a point of taking the business to that next level and growth is very much on our agenda. Our ESG strategy will be a pivotal part of our business growth plans and how we are viewed when it comes to future investment, so it was key that we picked the right partner to support us on making a real environmental impact. Play it Green are that partner.

“Play it green is a business that are making a difference, a difference for “good” and this reflects our own vision for The Resource Group which is making a positive difference in the recruitment sector for “good”. I am excited about this working partnership and how we can support each other on improving our own ESG strategy but also that of the clients we deal with, when assisting them on their headcount growth plans and on their Employee Value Proposition ”

Quote from Play It Green:

“I met Rachael completely by accident after I was added to a networking meeting list for an event I didn’t even know about. We had a brief chat on LinkedIn and then met up at Bonded Warehouse. We really hit it off and had lots of shared values. I am really excited that her company The Resource Group has chosen to join Play It Green.”
