TIPD x Play It Green: New Member
We’re thrilled to welcome TIPD, founded by Chris Anderson, to the Play It Green community! TIPD provides a cashless tipping solution that allows customers to tip service workers directly via a unique QR code. This makes tipping faster, fairer, and easier, with tips going directly into employees’ bank accounts within two days.
TIPD is joining our Climate Positive Workforce initiative, where their team will receive weekly sustainability education. We’ll also plant a mix of trees, mangroves, and sea kelp for each employee, supporting ecological restoration and carbon reduction.
In addition, TIPD has chosen to support Dogs4Rescue, donating 10% of their subscription fees to this incredible charity, showing their dedication to both social and environmental good.
We’re also working with TIPD on an exciting new initiative set to launch in 2025—stay tuned for more details!
We recently caught up with Chris Anderson to discuss TIPD’s mission and future plans. We’re excited about the impact this partnership will create.
Welcome aboard! Together, we’re making strides toward a greener, more sustainable future.

Please, tell us a little about TIPD
I never carry cash anymore and have found myself in a few embarrassing situations where I wanted to leave a tip but the person or venue couldn’t take a tip by card or I wasn’t 100% certain that person would actually receive it. I knew I wasn’t alone, so we built Tipd right here in Manchester to help individuals and teams in the service industry receive card tips directly, quickly and free

Why is sustainability important to TIPD?
Personally, I’ve always been an advocate for sustainability and I look to offset my own carbon footprint wherever possible. It was important to me as a founder that my business must also share and promote these same principles as it’s able to do so at a much larger scale. Lastly, as a tech company, we’re conscious of the ever-growing resource demand on the planet for the supporting infrastructure, so we are keen to rebalance and help wherever we can.

Why did TIPD decide to collaborate with Play It Green?
I was introduced to Richard at a networking event and having listened to him speak with such passion about his company and the great work it does, it was a no brainer. Play It Green aligns with TIPD principles and as two Manchester based businesses I’m keen that we support each other.
What does the future hold for TIPD?
We are picking up traction with Hospitality venues in and around Manchester looking for ways to manage card tips whilst reducing costs and overheads, to comply with new tipping laws which came into force this year. Next year we’ll be introducing euro payments to work with tour guides and restaurants in Europe.
