Tomboys and Tiaras: Introduction
We’re thrilled to welcome Tomboys and Tiaras, run by the fantastic Trevena Masters, to the Play It Green community!
Tomboys and Tiaras is a monthly LGBTQ+ Night for Women, bringing passion and creativity to everything they do. Now, they’re taking their commitment even further by joining our Climate Positive Workforce initiative.
Through this partnership, their team will receive weekly sustainability education, helping to make greener choices both at work and beyond. Play It Green will also plant a mix of trees, mangroves, and sea kelp every month for each team member, supporting ecological restoration and carbon reduction.
Plus 10% of all revenue generated for Play It Green by Tomboys and Tiaras will be regiven to their chosen charity, AKT, increasing their positive social impact.
Even more exciting, Tomboys and Tiaras is planting a tree with each ticket sale, meaning customers can be part of their planet repair journey with every purchase!
We recently caught up with founder, Trevena Masters to learn more about their journey, values, and future plans. It’s fantastic to have them as part of our growing community!
Please, tell us a little about Tomboys and Tiaras
After seeing the decline in LGBTQ+ events catering for women, we knew it was time to shake things up! We wanted to create a fun, warm, friendly but most of all, atmospheric, lively and inclusive night where women who love women could come & feel at home.
We love our community, and felt it was time to bring the ‘Sappho’ to south London, ensuring there is a space for LGBTQ+ women to mix, mingle, make friends & find love!
Iconic hits, drinks offers, 2 hour happy hour, wristbands, photo opportunities and more, we are proud to be an event which enables LGBTQ+ women to truly come and be themselves.
Why is sustainability important to Tomboys and Tiaras?
We care deeply about sustainability, and from the beginning, this was a real focus and priority even before we went ‘live as a business’. It’s part of our vision and core values, and as such we wanted this to be a cornerstone of not only our business operations, but in our offerings to our customers.
This is something we want to ensure continues, and knowing that we are making a positive difference regarding sustainability and our community is a great benefit not only for us, but for our customers and the environment.
Why did Tomboys and Tiaras decide to collaborate with Play It Green?
It was important to us to find a business solution which aligned with our vision and values, and upon researching we saw that Play it Green enabled charity collaboration which again is something that was, and continues to be, very important to us.
We believe in giving back to our community, and Play it Green’s collaboration with the charity akt was just another benefit of deciding to partner with them. It is clear that not only are Play it Green passionate about sustainability, but they are committed to ensuring their members are informed, updated and celebrated, with weekly updates and reaching out for support.

What does the future hold for Tomboys and Tiaras?
We want to ensure that our monthly event is a safe space for LGBTQ+ women and their friends to dance, interact, connect and have an amazing time!
Whether our guests have long been part of the LGBTQ+ community, recently joined, or somewhere in-between – ALL ARE WELCOME!
We want to be the ‘go to’ event for LGBTQ+ women in south London, where our guests have a night they won’t want to forget, and we are looking forward to what the future holds!
