Carbon Superheroes for Manchester

Manchester Has New Carbon Superheroes

The two co-founders of Play It Green have been awarded Carbon Superheroes status by their peers. This is due to their work to help make the people and businesses of Manchester greener and more sustainable.

Play It Green’s co-founders Chris Thair and Richard Dickson were crowned inaugural winners of the Carbon Superhero Award by MBH.

MBH is one of the largest business communities in Greater Manchester.

In less than two years since its launch, Play It Green has helped over three hundred businesses lower their carbon footprint.

As well as this the company has planted nearly 250,000 trees and gifted money to over 20 charities.

Inspirational Carbon Superheroes

Kyle Antony, MBH Director said:

“What Chris and Richard have achieved with Play It Green is inspirational. True leaders in a world always looking for guidance on how to be more sustainable.

This award is for their outstanding growth and success in influencing real and meaningful change across the world. They are true Carbon Superheroes. Helping people and businesses towards a more sustainable and greener world in which to live.

This service was born out of Manchester and continues to be delivered from the city, so it makes everyone extra proud.

With their service being used in nine countries and locally with great brands like Manchester Central, it shows they are fulfilling a need.

Congratulations to them both, two wonderful people and it is well deserved”.

Words from our Carbon Superheroes

Chris Thair and Richard Dickson, the two Cofounders of Play It Green said:

“To be crowned as Manchester’s first Carbon Superheroes is fantastic. Our results are due to the collective effort of many people who have supported our journey to date. For this reason, we share this award with them. We also recognise there are many good people out there trying to instigate change in others.

Play It Green was born out of conversation whilst walking in a Manchester Park. We didn’t know whether it would work because nobody in the world had come up with the same model before. However, we believed in it. We are just two dads from Manchester doing our bit, trying to make life better for future generations and those around us today. In April we will have been live for two years.

Thank you MBH for the award, we share it with all our colleagues and members”.
