EZ Hampers is an award-winning sustainable hamper company based in Manchester. As well as that, the company is a member of the Play It Green community. Recently, Play It Green’s co-founders were lucky enough to present founder Lisa Storey with her ‘Carbon Heroes’ award.
We caught up with Lisa to find out more about the story of her amazing company and what the future holds for it.
EZ Hampers: Our Story
Here at EZ Hampers, we’re all about eco-friendly gift-giving- and living!
In 2021, Lisa Storey, the founder of EZ Hampers, left the social care field after three decades with a simple mission: let’s make hampers sustainable.
As a big advocate of protecting the environment, Lisa wanted to reduce how much non-recyclable waste is discarded with traditional gift-giving.
Being vegan, having a son with a nut allergy and having an egg allergy herself, it was also incredibly important to Lisa that EZ Hampers would be able to accommodate all allergies and dietary needs.
After receiving gift hampers in the past without products she or her family could enjoy, Lisa knew that she wanted to make a difference in the gifting industry.
Two years on, we’re now a multi-award-winning gift hamper company that’s B-Corp pending!
EZ Hampers: How do we make our hampers sustainable?
Not only do we make sure that our hampers themselves are eco-friendly, but we also love supporting other sustainable businesses. When looking for suppliers for our hampers, we ensure that each potential retailer also prioritises the planet as much as we do.
With that in mind, each of our suppliers is interviewed by Lisa to make sure our values align. Then, if we feel the product is a perfect match for us, we order a tester product to ensure it’s 100% EZ Hampers approved!
EZ Hampers products are either biodegradable, come in recyclable packaging or are plastic free. This ensures that no item in your hamper goes to waste, even after you’ve finished enjoying it!
We’re also always on the lookout for local businesses that we can support. Buying locally helps to reduce the mileage our goods have to travel, reducing our carbon footprint. Products such as, a zero plastic bath and body company Proverbskin and BettyHula.
BettyHula makes its antibacterial hand cream packaging out of biodegradable sugarcane. These are just two of our many suppliers that create unique products which are also kind to the Earth. Each and every hamper is then packed up in a recyclable cardboard box or in a reusable wicker hamper, cushioned with recycled paper.
Even for our show-stopping display hampers, our ‘plastic’ wrapping is actually biodegradable! At every stage of the gift hamper-making process, we try to consider how we can prevent further waste and minimise our carbon emissions as a business.
EZ Hampers: Sustainability and Charity
As well as striving for sustainability through our suppliers and hampers, we also support eco-friendly organisations like Play It Green.
Through Play It Green, we’ve managed to plant 130 trees, and we’ve removed 7.7 tonnes of CO2 from the atmosphere. We’ve also been able to raise money for a diverse range of charities such as Cash4Kid, WWF, Speed of Sight and Dogs4Rescue.
Giving back has always been part of the EZ Hampers ethos. Due to this we also source products for our hampers that give proceeds to charity.
Products such as Fauna Beers give to conservation charities or engage in charity work themselves. Companies like Grace Chocolates, employ women from the Scottish prison system to help them start a new beginning.
Also, we have a new range, People’s Captain, which assists Men in supporting their Mental Health. Our hampers are the perfect way to give to a loved one whilst also giving back to a good cause.

Lisa started EZ Hampers at the start of 2021 with a simple idea: let’s make hampers sustainable.
Having worked in the social care sector for almost three decades Lisa decided that she would start her own company in early 2021.
