We recently caught up with their awesome founder, Katy Moses to find out more about her business and what the future holds for KAM.
Please, tell us a little about KAM
KAM is dedicated to providing unparalleled research, analysis and consultancy within the hospitality and food service sectors.
Our mission is to equip our clients with profound insights, allowing them to make informed, strategic choices that foster growth, innovation and sustainability in their businesses.
We truly believe that knowledge is power!
KAM works with hospitality brands, food and drink suppliers and a plethora of service providers – ensuring they have valuable and actionable insight that drives purposeful change.
Why is sustainability important to KAM?
As a business, our team is incredibly aware of the impact we have on the planet.
We believe both KAM as a company and the wider food and drink industry have an ethical responsibility to protect the well-being of the environment and the people impacted by the current climate crisis.
Furthermore, we are well aware that the food and drink industry has a major impact on pollution, deforestation and waste.
We also know the current climate crisis is already negatively affecting our industry in a number of ways such as droughts, floods, and other natural disasters that continue to disrupt the sector’s raw material supply.
Why did KAM decide to collaborate with Play It Green?
We speak to 1000s of hospitality customers every month and the ability to make sustainable choices is now really important to many UK consumers.
They are increasingly aware of the impact that their spending, eating and drinking choices have on our planet and want to make positive choices.
And that goes for employees too – Generation Z in particular are consciously making decisions on which companies they choose to work for based on sustainability credentials and company ethos.
Play it Green offered us a great way to make more ethical choices as a company and also offer our hospitality clients a simple and effective way to educate their workforce and enable their customers to positively contribute.
What does the future hold for KAM?
We are increasingly being asked by our hospitality and food service clients to help them better understand how they can build a more sustainable business – their customers and their teams are demanding it.
We are working with clients to develop a research solution focused on ‘sustainability’ which will help them better understand the key changes they need to make within their businesses and venues.
Knowledge is power, so by helping educate the industry as to how important sustainability issues are to their customers and employees, we hope to make our own positive impact.

“The hospitality industry holds a special place in my heart. So, when I was introduced to Katy by Joby Mortimer from Brakes, I was very nervous. Luckily Katy is an amazing, value-driven person, who does so much for good causes. It’s very exciting to now be collaborating with KAM who are incredibly well respected in the industry. Hopefully, this will be the start of lots more positive impact created through the power of collaboration.“
