One+All Joins Play It Green
In today’s amazing news, One+All the employee owned Stockport-based uniform supplier has joined the Play It Green community.
As one of Greater Manchester’s first ever employee owned companies, we are very proud to have this amazing company as a member.
Already a B Corp and producing fantastic products and a brilliant sustainability impact report, Play It Green is helping engage the team on sustainable change.
We caught up with their sustainability representative, Beth Moore, to find out more about the company and what the future holds for it.
Please, tell us a little about One+All
We are an Ethical and Sustainable Schoolwear Manufacturer based in Stockport, established in 1935 and became employee-owned in 2015. Due to this, all the shares are held in trust, for the good of all 70 colleagues, and we have no shareholders.
One+All became a B Corp in 2020 to guide us in balancing people, planet and prosperity. Not only that, but we have been Planet Mark certified for 5 years. The company also held our first Climate Crisis Day at our offices when we first achieved certification.
Our aim was to reduce our environmental impact at work and at home. As a business, we are also advocates of the Carbon Literacy Project. With that in mind we believe in climate education for all, to understand the current crisis we are facing.
We’re also members of the Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter and have Living Wage and Living Hours accreditations. Also, as a full member of the Ethical Trading Initiative, we work closely in partnership with them.
This helps to ensure we adopt best practices in business activities in our supply chains. We do this for the benefit of people and the planet.
Why is sustainability important to you?
We believe that we have a climate crisis and a poverty crisis, both here in Greater Manchester and around the world.
Due to the fact that we have all contributed negatively to climate change, we owe it to this and future generations to reduce our impact before it is too late.
Why did you decide to collaborate with Play It Green?
We are a Carbon Literate Organisation and aiming to be a Platinum organisation by the end of the year. Play It Green means that we are now a carbon-positive workforce. Due to that, all colleagues are rebalancing their personal carbon footprints with the Play It Green tree planting initiatives.
All our colleagues will be carbon literate and carbon positive with weekly engagement from Play It Green to learn more and to inspire us to further reduce our impacts.
What does the future hold for One+All
We are a force for good so we want to influence more organisations to become better employers. Not only that, but we want to help to educate their people to be more climate-conscious.
