In our conversation with Flee Chavasse, it was clear that Parka and Boots Photography is driven by values deeply rooted in sustainability. Flee shared her vision for her company and expressed her excitement for the journey ahead.
Please, tell us a little about the History and Values of Parka and Boots Photography
My photography company is 11 years old now – it sprang from helping in the art department at a local prep school! In supporting the student’s art projects, I got heavily into my photography once again, after learning all the skills at university! Initially, I was producing pieces of art and presenting them for sale locally in galleries. This led to taking on photography work for events and parties. In 2019 I took a course about branding and photography and decided to niche.
I began working with business owners to develop their photography to power up their marketing, highlighting the people behind the business and their products. To do this I take a lot of headshots and action shots, documenting events for my clients. I started as a very small business but I have continued to grow over the years. I also juggle parenting with our 3 children and many pets along the way!
One of my loves is working with people in business (in particular Garden Designers/Food related companies/Wellness experts and Marketing experts among others. Getting to know all my clients and working with them regularly is the BEST. I love how we all have such different personalities – it’s amazing when my clients’ values are in alignment with my own: collaboration, clear communication, empathy, openness and being true to your authentic self.
What’s happening now that’s exciting for Parka and Boots Photography?
I am looking forward to another big year for growth – I have been focusing and setting goals for income which in the past I wasn’t so focused on. Setting these goals has been great for me and increasing my financial growth. As well as this, I am building a wonderful network on LinkedIn and I continue to receive word-of-mouth referrals.
I have recently won an award for my branding Photography services from Prestige Awards South East, so I am very pleased with that! I am also taking my teaching of photography online so that is in the pipeline. Also, I am offering a brand new service taking headshots online, which I feel is a great, green way to work. Saving people time and negating the need to travel! I work through a specially adapted app, using my clients’ phone cameras.
Having recently passed a practitioner’s course in NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) I am also hoping to fuse creative teaching with mental wellness and helping people to have time that is stress-free.
Why did Parka and Boots Photography decide to collaborate with Play It Green?
I am passionate about looking after our beautiful green and blue planet and often feel a little helpless about how much destruction takes place. I do as much as I can to help on a personal level – but if there is ever an opportunity to do more, I will take it! Whether that is through photography or something else!
When I saw Richard’s post on Linkedin that reached me, I wanted to connect straight away. Becoming a member of this community with people who care for our world was a no-brainer for me! Richard is passionate about what he does and an incredibly hard worker – it was an easy ‘yes’ to join.
What does the future hold for Parka and Boots Photography?
Continuing to help businesses show off the ‘best versions of themselves’ and improve their visuals for marketing and help increase growth through better connections and visibility.
Growing the teaching element of my business! I shall also be on the lookout for any conservation projects or work that can lead to great change and make the world a better place.
I have lots of ideas and goals set in place and I am looking forward to developing and growing my business alongside connecting with others with aligning values.
