We caught up with their founder, Deanne Blake, to find out more about her company, what the future holds and why she joined Play It Green.
Please, tell us a little about Root2Ginger.
Root2Ginger is a Manchester based family business, after years of making ginger drinks in our family we began selling our drinks just after the pandemic. People became much more health conscious and were aware of the benefits of ginger for wellbeing. Our drinks provide an alcohol-free option for those still wanting a more adult drink. We have won great taste awards for all of our main drinks and are not into our 2nd year as a new business.
Why is sustainability important to you?
As individuals and businesses, we all have a responsibility to do better and think about how our actions can support a better environment for us all and not cause unnecessary harm to the planet. We have to be proactive when making choices and educate ourselves and others as much as possible.
Why did you decide to collaborate with Play It Green?
This was an easy choice after seeing the work that is done by Play It Green and the other companies involved. We are also pleased about the good causes supported by Play it Green and were happy to donate to this. Ultimately being part of a community where we can be continuously educated and receive tips can only be helpful to us as a business as we aim to decrease our carbon footprint.
What does the future hold for Root2Ginger?
We are a growing business and plan to continue to develop our brand nationally and internationally. We will continue to develop premium ginger drinks and extend our range whilst also reaching new routes to market. Our family business has started during a difficult financial time but we are hanging in there as best we can and have a loyal customer base. We recently attended a trade show in London and our drinks were very well received by buyers in the UK and abroad so we will be building on this over the next year.
