Social Impact Update: Transforming Business and Community

Social Impact Update: Introduction

At Play It Green, we believe that sustainability goes hand in hand with social impact. Our mission isn’t just to reduce carbon footprints and repair environmental damage but also to give back to our communities through our #regive initiative.

In the past three years, we have proudly supported 38 charities and raised over £25,000, with our monthly contributions steadily increasing. Our efforts reflect the core of our three-step solution to climate change: #reduce, repair, and #regive.

Our Journey: Supporting 38 Charities

We began our journey by choosing three charities to support: Mind, Shelter, and WWF. These organisations align with our values and mission, helping us make an immediate impact. However, as we grew, our community of nearly 200 businesses expressed their desire to support a wider range of causes.

Listening to our members, we expanded our charity portfolio to include an additional 35 charities, selected by our members themselves. This member-led approach ensures that our efforts are transparent, community-focused, and reflective of the diverse interests within our network.

The Power of #Regive

#Regive is the third and final step in our comprehensive strategy to combat climate change. After reducing our carbon footprints and repairing environmental damage, we focus on giving back. We commit 10% of all revenues to support various charities. This step is crucial because it not only addresses immediate social needs but also promotes a culture of conscious capitalism. By supporting various charities, we enable our members to make a tangible difference in both local and global communities.

Our #regive initiative demonstrates that businesses can thrive while prioritising social impact. According to the World Economic Forum, companies that engage in Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) see improved brand reputation and increased customer loyalty. This is particularly relevant for today’s consumers, who are more socially conscious than ever before (Stanton Chase).

Transparent and Member-Led

Transparency is at the heart of Play It Green. We ensure that our members know exactly where their contributions are going and the impact they are making. Our member-led approach means that our community has a say in which charities we support, promoting a sense of ownership and engagement. This collaborative model not only strengthens our community but also ensures that our charity work aligns with the values and passions of our members.

Conscious Capitalism: Doing Well by Doing Good

The concept of conscious capitalism, where businesses operate ethically while pursuing profits, is gaining traction. Play It Green embodies this principle by integrating social impact into our core operations. Our nearly 200 business members are not only committed to sustainability but also to making a positive difference in their communities. This dual focus on environmental and social impact positions our members as leaders in the conscious capitalism movement.

Research shows that companies engaged in ESG activities experience numerous benefits, including enhanced brand image, increased employee satisfaction, and better financial performance (ESG Research). By supporting charities and promoting sustainability, our members are reaping these rewards and setting themselves apart in the marketplace.

Social Impact: Good for Business

Supporting charitable causes isn’t just about doing good—it’s also good for business. Engaging in social impact initiatives can help companies attract and retain top talent, as employees increasingly seek out employers with strong CSR commitments. A study by Deloitte found that millennials are more likely to stay with a company that has a strong sense of purpose (Deloitte United States).

Moreover, businesses that invest in social impact often see increased customer loyalty and trust. Consumers today are more informed and selective, preferring to support companies that align with their values. By championing social causes, Play It Green members build stronger connections with their customers, enhancing brand loyalty and driving business growth.

A Growing Community of Change-Makers

Our community of nearly 200 businesses is a testament to the power of collective action. Together, we are not only addressing climate change but also making a significant social impact. From local initiatives to global campaigns, our members are committed to creating a better world. This commitment is reflected in the steady increase in our monthly contributions, highlighting the growing dedication of our community.

Social Impact Update: Wrap Up

Play It Green’s commitment to social impact through our #regive initiative showcases the power of conscious capitalism. By donating 10% of all revenues to support a wide array of charities, we not only address immediate social needs but also enhance our members’ business success.

Our transparent, member-led approach ensures that our nearly 200 business members are deeply engaged in making a positive difference in both local and global communities. This dual focus on sustainability and social impact drives brand value, attracts and retains top talent, and fosters long-term financial growth.
