The Joshua Tree x Play It Green: New Giving Partner

The Joshua Tree x Play It Green

In our latest fantastic news, Play It Green is proud to welcome The Joshua Tree as our latest giving partner. Now, all our members have the opportunity to regive their 10% to this amazing, Manchester based charity.

Not only that, but as a giving partner, we will provide the Joshua Tree with our education and Net Zero support for free.

The Joshua Tree offers personalised support programs to support the emotional well-being and mental health of both immediate and extended family members affected by childhood cancers. Furthermore, they  ensure that assistance is received for as long as necessary.

We recently caught up with their Head of Development, Marian Arnold-Lawson to find out more about this fantastic charity and what the future holds for The Joshua Tree.

Please, tell us a little about The Joshua Tree

The Joshua Tree provides bespoke programmes of support to improve the emotional well-being and mental health of all immediate and extended family members who are affected by childhood cancers, across North-West England and North Wales, for as long as they need it.

We recognise that each family’s cancer journey is unique and the symbolic ringing of the bell on hospital wards marks the end of one journey, but also signals the start of a new one.

We support families with bespoke counselling, play days, events after school and through summer holidays, wellbeing sessions and days out.

We are unique in that our donors are welcome to visit our centre and meet the families, volunteer for us and really see where their donations go. We are being referred to even more families than ever so really appreciate your support.

Why is sustainability important to you?

Anything which makes our world a better place for the children growing up in it, is key to us.

Why did you decide to collaborate with Play It Green?

We have seen the work Play it Green do…not just footprint reduction and reforestation, but supporting communities, networking and growing collaborations and the charity partnership simply made sense.  We are keen to work together to meet more people who care about the world we live in.

What does the future hold for The Joshua Tree?

We want to continue to support more families than ever, we are looking at expanding our reach further into Manchester and other regions as well as applying for more land so we can expand our centre here in Cheshire too.

Richard Dickson, Co-Founder, Play It Green

“I have known Marian for a number of years and we recently reconnected. When I heard that she had begun working for the Joshua Tree, the timing couldn’t have been better. The Joshua Tree does amazing work, and with me being a Mancunian, it is a privilege to be able to support them. All our members can now choose this amazing cause and Play It Green will regive 10% of the revenue they generate back to this amazing cause.”
