The Regency Club x Play It Green
In today’s amazing news, The Regency Club, a family business and one of the finest Bar and Grills in London has joined the Play It Green community.
Not only that but the restaurant is the launch partner for Play It Green’s new hospitality initiative!
Every member of the team is now being educated in sustainability, whilst the restaurant has full access to all Play It Green’s platform and Net Zero support. This also includes signposting to services such as menu dish Footprinting and sustainable wines!
All this at no cost!
Furthermore, every diner also has the opportunity to plant two trees which will help rebalance their meal’s impact for just £1. On top of that 10% of each £1 is regiven to The Regency Club’s chosen charity.
We caught up with their owner and founder, Rahul Sharma to find out more about this amazing location and what the future holds for it.
Please, tell us a little about The Regency Club
The Regency Club is an Indian Bar and Grill, which holds true to its Kenyan roots.
We provide an authentic style of Indian cuisine which is unique to East Africa.
Our restaurant has a large open-plan kitchen, which is the heart and soul of our venue.
The guests love to watch our chefs busy working away cooking meals.
As well as that, we have a very relaxed atmosphere with a large bar area as you walk in.
This helps to create a social, pub-like atmosphere.
Why is sustainability important to you?
Sustainability has now become a conscious factor when making decisions in our everyday lives.
As a business, it is now our duty to consider sustainability in every aspect as a matter of principle and ethics.
If we don’t care about the world we live in, who else will?
Why did you decide to collaborate with Play It Green?
We wanted to work with a partner who is true to their cause.
Transparency was key to us, having known Richard for many years, he is someone I can trust and after hearing about Play It Green. I simply knew it was the right company to partner with.
By doing so, it allows us to reach our sustainability goals!
What does the future hold for The Regency Club
We are living in very uncertain times and working in an industry, which is seen as a luxury expenditure to most and not a necessity.
Currently, we are treading very carefully in the current economic climate.
However, we are looking to grow the takeaway arm of our business in the near future.
