Wine&Earth x Play It Green: New Member

Wine&Earth Joins Play It Green

In our latest exciting news, Play It Green is proud to welcome Wine&Earth to our amazing community.

Wine&Earth sources quality, family owned, small-batch wines from around the world. Their artisanal winemakers nurture the earth from which the vines grow and each bottle has a net positive climate impact from vineyard to doorstep. Furthermore, all their wines are rated on sustainability so that you can make a conscious choice on what you buy.

We are excited to be supporting their team with individual education and signposting around sustainability. Not only that but we will plant 13 trees for each team member, every month, while they are on the journey of reduction. The business also has access to all our Net Zero and marketing support and a community of like-minded businesses.

Finally, and how cool is this, they have chosen Dogs 4 Rescue as their good cause which sees 10% of the revenue they generate regiven to this amazing charity.

We recently caught up with the CEO, Dale Agar to find out more about this fantastic business and what the future holds for Wine&Earth.

Please, tell us a little about Wine&Earth

At Wine&Earth, we’ve made it our mission to introduce people to the exciting world of high-quality small-batch wines that are not only characterful and delicious but also produced with greater thoughtfulness for people and the planet.

We are building an exciting portfolio of climate-positive wines from around the world.

We aim to have the best sustainable wine from each region and to ensure it reaches you without leaving a hangover for the planet.

The wines we find are artisanal small-batch releases (i.e. not produced using damaging industrial processes for the mass market). This means there’s no need to worry about compromising on taste – many of our wines are selected by top sommeliers around the world and served at Michelin-starred restaurants.

Why is sustainability important to Wine&Earth?

Wine&Earth is a young wine merchant, specialising in finding and curating only the most exquisite ethical wines. We’re therefore mindful of the impact our business has on the environment. Not only that, but our role is to ensure that our actions have a positive, long-term impact on the planet, its people and our business.

All the vineyards we work with use sustainable farming practices, many of our featured wines are organic and naturally low in sulphites, and we ensure that our bottles are delivered to customers with a net zero carbon impact through the entire supply chain.

Why did Wine&Earth decide to collaborate with Play It Green?

Play It Green’s approach is very engaging, informative and genuine. A great partner, with shared values, to assist Wine&Earth and our staff, along our sustainable journey with their wealth or resources, information and training. We subscribe to Play It Green’s 3 step approach and love their ideas and initiatives.

What does the future hold for Wine&Earth

We’ve just been through a merger which has provided the platform for us to review our entire business and all our 100 producers. We are developing our own sustainable rating system in the process. This has resulted in considerable change in the way we operate and approach our business and client relationships which gives me confidence in how Wine&Earth is going to impact our industry. Very positive about our future!
